There are a wide variety of kids 4 wheelers to choose from. There are well known name brands, that everyone has heard of like Honda, Yamaha, and  Polaris. and some new brands that are the new comer's to producing kids 4 wheeler.

When looking at an ATV, you as the adult want to make sure that you pick the proper size, of machine, for your child.  Of course when you go to a dealer, and talk with a sale's representative they will help you make this decision.

When looking at kids 4 wheeler you, and the youngster many also want to decide on the color they may want. You can get almost any color. Pink, Yellow, Red, Green etc. Whatever the child's Favorite maybe. There are several different styles, like racing ones, and utility ones that have cargo racks.

Most all kids 4 wheelers come with a Throttle limit control. This is a great Safety feature. You the adult can set the throttle so the 4 wheeler will only travel about 5 mile per hour, for starting out. And can be adjusted as the child gets familiar with riding it. Some are equipped with a remote shut-off, that works up to 100 feet away. Great for stopping them when you think there out of control. There is also an emergency pull shut-off on the back of some that you can attach a rope to, and walk behind to stop the engine also.  Most generally they have a easy to find foot brake as well as a hand brake. Shocks for a smoother ride. Most are fully automatic transmission, so when they push the gas they can go, of course as you get into different Brands you may also get into options of transmissions with gears, and maybe even reverse.

Pricing varies on the brand, and size you are looking at. Over all they are reasonably priced, and there are some used kids 4 wheelers available that could be a great deal.

Safety

When getting started some of the features stated above can keep your child safe, but there are a lot of personal protective items they will need also. The most important is the Helmet. The Helmet should be properly fitted for your child. There is also goggles, gloves, boots, and clothing. These items will also help protect the rider. We all want to see the youngster having Fun, but the most important thing is they don't get hurt.
